Game Programming with Python is our new, engaging, & interactive course designed to introduce young students to the fundamentals of programming through the exciting world of game development.

We’ll be using the "Exploring Programming with Python" curriculum from Carnegie Mellon University, to provide a hands-on approach to learning coding concepts through a fun and visually stimulating environment. Students will explore programming basics through text-based coding in Python, focusing on graphics-based problem-solving and game creation. The course covers 4 main units: Drawing with Shapes, Basic Animations, Giving Programs Options, and Animating Lots of Shapes. At the end of the course, each student will be able to develop their own game using Python.

This course qualifies for our

Certificate of Excellence

Students who attend all classes & complete all homework assignments with a score of 80% or above will be eligible to receive our Certificate of Excellence, documenting their successful completion of the class.
